Dr. Alan Nathans

A graduate of Life University (Marietta, GA) and in private practice since 1999. I’m proud of being honored with the Family Practice Excellence Award for my dedication to family health care. My credentials include:

  • Lecturer & Chiropractic Innovator
  • Certified, Metabolic Typing Advisor
  • Certified, Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist
  • Certified, Bio-Nutritional Care related to autism spectrum disorders
  • Accumulation of hundreds of post-graduate hours in the field of Functional Medicine

From a young age, I realized I felt my very best when I was helping others, which led me to recognize I wanted to contribute the most to the world through involvement in a health-related field.

I pursued Chiropractic Medicine after an experience that changed my own life as a teenager when I found myself in excruciating pain and unable to move. My father said, “I’ll take you to my Chiropractor in the morning”. I didn’t even know what a Chiropractor was, and at that time, I didn’t care. After a few chiropractic adjustments, I functioned normally, and this experience guided me into my career.

Many years after that first chiropractic adjustment, I decided to go back to college at age 28 and I graduated from Chiropractic school in 1999 and moved with my wife to Jacksonville, FL, to begin my professional practice.

My three daughters – Rebecca, Arin, and Morgan – each received their first adjustment on the day they were born. Like other children worldwide, they continued to receive chiropractic wellness care, setting the stage for a healthy spine for future growth and development. Through caring for my patients and my own family, I’ve seen the amazing results that Chiropractic Medicine can provide for every stage of life – infants, children, teens, adults, and the elderly.

Today, Alan Nathans Family Chiropractic serves the second, third, and fourth generations of families whose adjustments are routine instead of waiting for the pain to set in or become a crisis. Focused on serving people, we educate our community on how to live active, healthy lives without limits now and in the future.

Please know, I’m grateful to you for visiting our website, and I look forward to helping you and your family to live your best 100 Year Lifestyle now!

Dr. Robert Thompson

I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic (2007). I’m passionate about people, their comfort, and my desire to positively impact their lives through a bold and proactive approach to health and the maintenance of an active, healthy lifestyle.

As an active member of multiple chiropractic organizations, I am purpose-driven, efficiently implementing the 100-year lifestyle concepts to improve the quality of life for as many people as I can. When I’m not working hard in this chiropractic profession maintaining healthy nervous systems for patients, I’m a boating enthusiast who enjoys being outdoors wakeboarding, snowboarding, and improving my golf game.

Dawn Dietrich

Born in Minnesota and raised in Oklahoma, I’m a mother of two. My love for the beach brought our family to sunny Florida. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a major in Human Resource Management. When I can, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking on the beach, and stand-up paddleboarding.

I understand the need for Chiropractic care in my life. I started her Chiropractic journey several years ago when I noticed a significant and positive difference in my health and lifestyle with regular adjustments. As a patient of Dr. Nathans, I witnessed his passion and dedication every day, prior to joining his team, more than four years ago.

I want to help Nathans Family Chiropractic patients live healthier lives with Chiropractic care, and I look forward to serving you.

Nicole Rettig

I’m a Kentucky native with a Bachelors in Business Administration.  I have a professional background in Finance, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service. Having a passion for helping others along with Health & Wellness, I decided to try my hand as a Chiropractic Assistant and fell in love with the holistic approach to healing & helping people.

While living in Hawaii for two years, I stayed connected with all of my Kentucky friends by starting a Facebook group with over 200 members called “Just For The Health of It!” Each month I would host a new group challenge with emphasis on things such as physical fitness, nutrition, hydration, self care or stress management.

When not at work, I love any outdoor adventure.  Camping, Hiking, Backpacking, Mountain Biking and Kayaking.

My husband & I are now full time RV’ers after his retirement from 22 years service in the Navy.  We love having new scenery wherever/whenever we want! We’ve traveled cross country from west coast to east coast and so far Colorado and Utah were our faves!! Our two boys (Smokey & Bandit) have been living their best doggy life getting to enjoy all the sites & adventures.

I am excited to recently settle here in Jacksonville where I can make a genuine difference in the community as a Team Member at Alan Nathans Family Chiropractic!

Crystal Carr

I grew up in sunny Jacksonville, Florida. After graduating from Englewood High School, I attended Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama where I received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Administration and a minor in Human Resources.
During my college years I became a student of music as well and later moved to Atlanta where I became a published songwriter. My accomplishments include songs that were performed on FOX Network TV, TNT Drama, and Radio Disney. I also enjoy cooking, yoga and spending time outdoors.
My greatest achievement is motherhood. Onyx Prince, my one-year-old son, is the joy of my life and I hope to set a good example for healthy living at 100% for 100 years!

Laina Torries

Hey there! My name is Laina Torries, and I’m a functional medicine enthusiast and women’s health advocate from Morgantown, WV. I received my Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Food Sciences at West Virginia University and my Master of Science in Dietetics at Marshall University. Since graduate school, I’ve lived in Austin, TX, working for UT’s football and basketball teams, and in Raleigh, NC, helping clients achieve weight loss and mental clarity.

I believe the trifecta to sustainable health includes nutrition, exercise, and a mindset to integrate chiropractic care into a personal health plan. I plan to utilize everything I’m learning as a Chiropractic Assistant when I pursue my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in the summer of 2022. When I’m not working, you can find me hiking with my dog, relaxing on the beach, or eating at new restaurants!
