Softwave Tissue Regeneration Technology FAQ's

  • Treatment involving technology that applies short, frequent, and high-intensity bursts of mechanical energy (in the form of a shockwave) into soft tissue that has previously been injured, scarred, or contains adhesions, is painful, or inflamed.
  • This treatment initiates biological regeneration processes at the cellular level.

SoftWaves are created by means of a high-energy electrical discharge in water. The voltage is discharged between the opposing tips (plus and minus pole) of an electrode. The arcing or spark gap causes an equalization of voltage between the two tips of the electrode whereby a hot plasma bubble is created. This bubble explodes in all directions, compresses the surrounding water, and generates a pressure > 10 MPa within only a few nanoseconds (10-9ns).

SoftWave low intensity, unfocused energy is delivered via our patented parabolic reflector applicator in the form of parallel waves. SoftWave technology offers the ONLY UNFOCUSED SHOCK WAVE on the market. Despite this electrohydraulic shock wave energy in water traveling 5 times faster (3355mph) than in air (767 mph), it does not cause microtrauma.

  • FDA 510(k) cleared for:
  • Activation of connective tissue
  • Treatment of chronic diabetic foot ulcers
  • Treatment of acute second-degree burns
  • Improved blood supply
  • Pain relief

Stem cells are fundamentally the building blocks of life and have the potential to differentiate into many different types of cells within the body. Stem cells are actively involved in repairing, regenerating, and rebuilding damaged or absent tissue (in the body) that has been affected by disease, infection, or injury.

Let the healing begin…one SoftWave at a time!

SoftWave Tissue Regeneration Technologies uses patented technology to reach an injured area at the cellular level to successfully turn on the body’s natural healing process.

  • Increases blood supply
  • Modulates inflammation
  • Stimulates, activates, and recruits resident stem cells
  • Accelerates wound healing
  • Repairs, remodels, and regenerates tissue
  • Induces antibacterial effect
  • Gets you back to doing the things you want to do!!!

Cortisone aka Steroids ARE NOT FDA approved. Cortisone shots are injections that can help relieve pain and inflammation in a specific area of your body. They’re most commonly injected into joints — such as your ankle, elbow, hip, knee, shoulder, spine or wrist.

Cortisone (Steroid Injection) only mask pain symptoms and over time will disintegrate the joint that it is injected.

It is thought that cortisone shots might be most effective in treating inflammatory arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis.

They can also be used to mask pain for the following conditions, including:

  • Back pain
  • Bursitis
  • Gout
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Psoriatic arthritis
  • Reactive arthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Tendinitis

Although pain may be diminished, there are many un-healthy risks and potential side effects of cortisone shots, which increase with larger doses and repeated use.

Side effects can include:

  • Cartilage damage
  • Death of nearby bone
  • Joint infection
  • Nerve damage
  • Temporary facial flushing
  • Temporary flare of pain and inflammation in the joint
  • Temporary increase in blood sugar
  • Tendon weakening or rupture
  • Thinning of nearby bone (osteoporosis)
  • Thinning of skin and soft tissue around the injection site
  • Whitening or lightening of the skin around the injection site

SoftWave is a much better choice over pills, injections of cortisone, or even so-call natural biologics.

SoftWave is:

  • non-invasive (no-needle) option for pain relief and tissue regeneration
  • less than a 10-minute treatment
  • an option with no downtime
  • a more affordable option
  • no risk of infection
  • growth of new blood vessels and connective tissue

Depends on the joint and damage. On average the treatment frequency is 2 times per week for a few weeks, and then 1 time per week for a few weeks over about a 6-8 period.

The treatment takes about 10-15 minutes.

During the first treatment, if you are uncomfortable when the SoftWaves enter the tissue we know that we have found damaged tissue. That is what we are looking for. This means that you are a great candidate for SoftWave treatment. 9 out of 10 people feel some immediate pain relief and an increase in function following the first treatment. Inflammation and pain will begin to diminish following the first treatment. Stem cells activate within 15 hours and keep activating after each treatment. Stem cells can act like sleepy soldiers that quickly get ready for action and repair. After the final treatment, stem cell activation continues for approximately 8-12 weeks, and connective tissue repair can continue for many months.

On average, treating one joint, for example, the knee, will cost under $1,500. Maintenance treatments cost half of the regular fee.

Once your treatment plan is completed, a maintenance schedule will be recommended.

Medicare won’t cover stem cell therapy for the joints. Commercial insurance companies like United Healthcare, Cigna, BCBS, etc. follow what Medicare approves. The cost of SoftWave is the patient’s responsibility.
